Good assessment Ken. I played the London System but it soon became a rather unusual variant! I had a slight edge in development but when Chris played 11...Qb5 I missed my opportunity - 12.Qxb5 Bxb5 13.Nxb6 (winning a pawn).
Later I should have played 22. Bxf6 (rather than g3) which allowed Chris to place his Knight on the excellent e4 square. After 23...Bxe5 I recaptured with the wrong pawn (-0.6) and Chris started to apply considerable pressure on my position. However the pressure was relieved after 31...Rd2 and shortly after we agreed a draw when White had a perpetual check opportunity.
It was a tough game Chris, well played. I felt under a lot of pressure to find good defensive moves, but post game you correctly assessed that the earlier position was no more than a marginal advantage for Black.

Excellent game; well played both. In catching glimpses of the game, I sensed black had gained a slight edge once he had extricated his pieces away from the danger of being permanently boxed in. But, in reviewing it now, if there was an advantage it was only minimal and would've required something really special to convert. Yes, a draw's a fair and hard-earned result for both sides.
