I've only just had time to see the game, that's all. Can't wait for the return, will it be a case of 'TREVENGE' For Left Hook?

In the last week the CIC has played the FM, The Major played The Kid and here we are still embroiled in the JPF v Left Hook Trev game played a week ago, that must say something.
We must have a club rule stating that JPF & Kendo Are never in the same league, they are publicity magnets often for the wrong reasons but that’s all the better, yes, JFP at the moment you still have that point but don’t count your chickens just yet.
Can’t wait for the return game the room will be packed.

OK so that clears that up. It was a draw as in the each position both sides had the same moves available as before. It doesn't matter about the build up play.

It's only a draw though if a player says..."Hey, It's a draw!" and claims it. Good to know as this kind of thing can go on at a congress and I'd have been non the wiser....
...so a well earned point JPF...Well played and a lesson learnt for Trevor and the rest of us...

Very interesting, poor old JPF having to fight for his hard earned point from a week ago is now trying to hang on to this point, this is just my suspicion has Uncle given the NOD? JPF is drawing so much attention giving the Homan so much high profile, last season the Nearly Humans were hardly spoken or thought about JPF was then a Dunnie.
Is the FM worried about this hard earned point, I think so, with the Trickster topping the Dunnie is he thinking it’s going to be a FAB 4 swap again, yes MI 2 are emerging gently at the moment referring to the rule book but take care JPF of pin pointed umbrellas & white powders.
For the record as yet I haven’t played through this game yet.

also just found this , in order for a position to be considered the same, each player must have the same set of legal moves each time, including the possible rights to castle and capture en passant. as the run up to the position was different on 1 occasion i believe it wasnt a draw anyway from the above rule.

thanks so much for the help David. just got this from fide The relevant rule in the FIDE laws of chess is 9.2, which reads:

The game is drawn, upon a correct claim by the player having the move, when the same position, for at least the third time (not necessarily by sequential repetition of moves)

a. is about to appear, if he first writes his move on his scoresheet and
declares to the arbiter his intention to make this move, or

b. has just appeared, and the player claiming the draw has the move.

so if trev had declared a draw i would have taken it-not because of this but because i knew it was a draw position. but as you know you have to claim anything and as the position was quite a few moves apart ,very hard to tell.

Ooooo cracking game. Love it!!!
BUT....
...I hate to be a nitpicker (And I may be wrong) but if you look at the position of the pieces after Black's 61st move, White's 66th move, and White's 69th move you'll see the same position has been repeated 3 times!
So I suppose the question is...
is this a draw or does someone have to actually see it over the board? I suppose we should ask somebody more in the know...?

I used that classic tactic ive learnt at the club of keep going when youve drawn or lost till they nod off.
