Alan had a cold and wasn't up to the evening, he's looking forward to two days in bed to recover, he was also faced with a late substitute of a youth, and having prepared for a game ranked 4 above himself, couldn't adapt in time to a player ranked 22 below his grade, he lost a piece early and didnt recover.
Trevor and Roy had steady wins.
Arthur toyed with his opponent allowing him to mate if he was so inclined, he wasn't. Arthur also decided to get low on his clock to tease him further, eventually Arthur saw sense and started to play solidly and quicker to get a resignition after opponent now a rook down.
