Thanks David, Why not try the London system next season. One advantage is, being a system, the move order doesn't matter too much and there are not long openings with lots of variations to remember. If Black plays 7...Bxf4 I think it would be small advantage to White. A continuation might be 8. exf4 Ne7 9. Re1 0-0 10. Nbd2 Qd6 11. Ne5 after which Shredder rates the position as +0.65.

Well you may see me roll out an attempt at the London System next season, always up for expanding my opening repertoire!!!

I'd be interested to look further at what happens if Black plays 7...Bf4 and swaps off the dark squared Bishops and disrupts White's centre. Is this playing into White's hands?

Well played Alan.

Thanks Steve, Cliff's opening against you last night looked very Londonesque (except for Bf4). It would be nice to see another London system player in the club. I've heard that in some circles it is frowned upon! I'll have to watch out for the double fianchetto that you played. Well done on an excellent end game after your slip earlier on.

Thanks Ken. I too look forward to our game in 2 weeks time.

London system triumphs again. I think this too will be Cliffs weapon of mass destruction next season.
