Press Report 29th November 2019

This week the South Hams Div 2 team travelled to Newton Abbott; Although Steve Dickinson was defeated on board 1 by Trefor Thynne, the other 3 boards did much better with James Schofield beating Danilo Wasques on 2, Phil McConnell (after a tough struggle) getting the better of Richard Brenton on 3 and Alan Davies coming away with the point after Aarv Paul made two illegal moves before resigning.

Dennis Cowley was back in action in the Dunleavey League getting a solid point against Roy Greenhalgh. In the M Wray Shield there was another tussle between Barry Sweetman and Tony Collins, this time Barry prevailed.

Club Champion Steve Levy extended his lead at the top of the Homan League by dismantling James Fowler in just 24 moves. The game of the week award this week must go to Richard Thomas who weathered a blistering attack from Trevor Hurt and then found a brilliancy to turn the game on it's head. A great victory for Richard.
