Excellent video and commentary Phil, the whole club could do with watching these, against the higher graded players a slow build up is needed more, because after all, if there are no blunders that is what they are doing to you and when the time is right pieces are in place, it's interesting with the commentary how every ones train of thought is different.

Kevin Hindom kindly emailed me this message: Thanks for letting me participate in the conversation, and to view your excellent youtube video. I agree with Steve that ..g5 was fine. When I retreated the bishop to f4 on move 13 it was the reply I was most concerned about. I thought g4 was fine as well but after 15. hxg4 was expecting you to sac the knight on f2 before recapturing the g-pawn. This would have forced my king behind my knight and won your piece back on the next move and left us with an interesting game in which both of our kings are exposed. As for your take home message from the game, I don't think you should stop attacking. The idea was a good one it was the execution that was flawed and you'll only get better there by continue to try! Although I won the game it's not comfortable being attacked and had you played 15...Nxf2 instead of ...fxg4 you would have had excellent chances. I'm happy for you post the above on the site.
