South Hams Will Win Division 3 Title for 2014-15

On Tuesday 24th March, in Division 3 of the Torbay League South Hams won 3-1 away at Teignmouth. Full details, including a match report, are available here.

This means that South Hams have won 8 of their 9 matches this season in Division 3, and, with one match still to play, are guaranteed to finish at least 2 points ahead of any other team. Full details of the team's exploits this season can be found here. Cliff tells me that this is the first time a South Hams team has won a division title in the Torbay and District League.

The South Hams players really have "played their socks off" this season. Some statistics:

  • South Hams were out-graded by their opponents in 6 of their 9 matches to-date, yet still won 8 of them.
  • No less than eleven South Hams members have played for the Division 3 team this season - illustrating a very encouraging strength in depth.
  • Nine of the eleven players performed above their grading in these Division 3 matches.
  • The game score so far is a remarkable 26½ - 9½ in favour of South Hams.

Many congratulations to all the players who have contributed to a fantastically successful season for the Division 3 team.
