Ken Ashby Triumphs in the "Defibrillator Series"

Promotion and relegation is now decided. Some time ago, it was determined that the top two players in the Dunleavy League (Cliff Peach and Roy Greenhalgh) would swap places with the bottom two players in the Homan League (Dennis Russell and James Fowler). What has taken longer to decide is the outcome of a playoff between 4th in the Homan League (Ben Wilkinson) and 3rd in the Dunleavy League (Ken Ashby). With so much at stake, this game was nicknamed the "Defribulator Game", but after it was drawn on 26th May the nickname became the "Defibrillator Series".

A second attempt to get a winner was made on 2nd June - but this produced a second draw. So a third game in the Defibrillator Series was played on 23rd June - and this time Ken Ashby prevailed. Club members can view this game here.

So, many congratulations to Ken on achieving promotion to the Homan League.
