Great Results on Super Thursday

On 6th October, for the first time in living memory the club held two home fixtures in the same evening:

  • against Plymouth in Division 3
  • against Teignmouth in Division 4

There were also games in the Homan and Dunleavy leagues, including a "spicy" encounter between Steve Levy and David Archer in the Homan.

No wonder Cliff dubbed it "Super Thursday".

South Hams managed to beat a strong Plymouth team by 2½ - 1½, and scored a decisive 3½ - ½ win over Teignmouth. The Zaffiro twins both represented the club for the first time in the Teignmouth match, and both came away with impressive victories. Great stuff. The "spicy" Homan League game, Steve had to summon all his considerable skill to get a draw - David played a very impressive game which logged-in club members can view here.
